About the event
Mat Anderson is a musical journeyman who started his voyage in Southend (home to the world's longest pier), then onto London and eventually winding up in Nottingham. He has embraced a diverse musical heritage from progressive rock to Brazilian samba to Latin folk but all the time his love of jazz has stoked the flames of his musical fire. He has collaborated and performed with Andy Sheppard, played alongside Digby Fairweather and written jazz fusion scores for dance companies, bands and community ensembles across the Midlands and the North. With his new show, 'Decades' Mat brings his musical imagination to bear on timeless songs together with some surprising modern favourites, all delivered with a remarkable voice that offers the range of Tony Bennett, the silky tones of Mel Torme and the sass of Frank Sinatra.
